Conference Terms and Conditions | Dementia Africa

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern participation in the conference organised by Dementia Africa (“the Organisers”). By registering for, attending, or participating in the Event, each attendee (“the Participant”) agrees to be bound by these Terms.

Please review the following terms and conditions carefully before completing your registration for the Dementia Africa Conference.

1. Payment

Full payment is required to confirm registration for the Dementia Africa Conference, organized by Dementia Africa, a charitable organization registered in Nigeria.

2. Cancellations & Refunds

  • Cancellations received on or before 1 March qualify for a refund of 75% of the amount paid.
  • No refunds will be issued after 1 March, including cases of non-attendance or personal circumstances.

3. Use of Funds

Registrants acknowledge that conference fees support the charitable objectives, programmes, and operational costs of Dementia Africa.

4. Force Majeure

Dementia Africa shall not be liable for failure or delay in performance due to events beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, public health emergencies, government restrictions, or security concerns.

In such circumstances, refunds (if any) shall be at the sole discretion of the Organiser.

5. Refund Processing

Approved refunds will be processed to the original payment method within a reasonable administrative timeframe.

6. Photography, Filming, and Recording

The Organisers and/or their authorised representatives reserve the right to photograph, film, audio-record, or otherwise document all or any part of the Event.

By attending the Event, the Participant grants the Organisers a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, and worldwide licence to use such materials for informational, promotional, marketing, or archival purposes.

Recordings or images may be used in digital or printed formats without further notice or compensation.

7. Intellectual Property Rights

All intellectual property rights in materials, presentations, documents, recordings, and other Event content remain the property of the Organisers or respective rights holders.

Participants may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or exploit Event content without prior written authorisation.

Unauthorised use may result in removal from the Event and potential legal action.

8. Code of Conduct

The Organisers are committed to providing a professional, inclusive, and safe environment. All Participants must behave respectfully and lawfully.

Prohibited conduct includes, but is not limited to:

  • Harassment, intimidation, or discriminatory behaviour
  • Verbal abuse or threats of any kind
  • Use or display of offensive or inappropriate materials
  • Disruption of sessions or Event activities
  • Unauthorised recording or data collection
  • Impersonation or misrepresentation

The Organisers reserve the right to remove any Participant who breaches these Terms without refund.

9. Travel, Insurance, and Limitation of Liability

Participants are responsible for their own travel, accommodation, and insurance.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Organisers shall not be liable for any loss or damage arising from participation in the Event.

Participation is entirely at the Participant’s own risk.

10. Data Collection and Privacy

By registering for the Event, Participants consent to the collection and processing of personal data for Event administration and related purposes.

Where explicit consent is provided, data may also be used for communications and promotional activities.

All personal data will be handled in accordance with applicable data protection laws.

11. Governing Law and General Provisions

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the applicable jurisdiction in which the Organisers are based.

If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain valid.

These Terms constitute the entire agreement between the Participant and the Organisers.
